Is Cochrane ready for a PEV Program? Give your feedback here!

Dear SPUR Membership/Stakeholders,

My name is Richard Jones and I would like to extend an invitation to you to be part of a research project that I am conducting. I am currently enrolled in the Executive Management – MBA Program at Royal Roads University and this research project is a requirement for this program.

This research project, Exploring the implementation of a Pilot Plug-in Electric Vehicle (PEV) Program within the community of Cochrane, AB and opportunities for alignment to community sustainability targets, is part of the Executive Management – MBA Degree requirement at Royal Roads University.

My academic credentials with Royal Roads University can be verified by contacting Mr. Don Caplan, Academic Projects Manager, at or 250-391-2600 ext. 4367.

The research will consist of this survey which is estimated to take 5-7 minutes to complete.  The survey questions are designed to seek a baseline understanding of the current perception and significance of existing Town of Cochrane “green” business practices, Cochrane Sustainability Plan awareness and perceived PEV Program implementation benefits and challenges.

My final research paper will be submitted to Royal Roads University in partial fulfillment of my Executive Management – MBA Degree. An executive summary of the final research paper will be shared with my project sponsor, the Town of Cochrane, AB. as well as a potential broader group of municipal and/or sustainability plan stakeholders within the community of Cochrane, AB.

The information you provide will be summarized, in anonymous format, in the body of the final research paper. At no time will any specific comments be attributed to any individual. All data received will be kept confidential.

Data obtained from this online survey will be collected using a Canadian electronic based software program, FluidSurveysTM. Different subscriptions to FluidSurveysTM determine accessibility to the data however data collected from the survey will remain in Canada on the FluidSurveysTM server indefinitely. For the purposes of this research project the data will be downloaded and stored electronically in a password protected file.

Data will be collected anonymously and confidentially through the survey tool on FluidSurveysTM. It is not possible to remove an individual’s data once they have been submitted and become part of the anonymous database.

You are not required to participate in this research project. If you do choose to participate, you are free to withdraw at any time without prejudice. Similarly, if you choose not to participate in this research project, this information will also be maintained in confidence. Your completion of this survey will constitute your informed consent.

Thank you for your consideration and support.

Richard Jones
