Cochrane Community Awards 2012

It’s time to nominate local community members and businesses for their contributions to making Cochrane a vibrant, friendly and thriving community by nominating them for a Cochrane Community Award.

“Take a look at your neighbours, colleagues, community leaders, and local organizations and businesses for the difference they have made to improving life in Cochrane,” says the committee organizing the awards. “Nominate them for an award!”

This year, the highly successful awards program has grown to include more award categories and more community groups involved on the organizing committee.

As always, the awards will celebrate and recognize outstanding achievements and contributions. Awards go to individuals, corporations, community groups, schools, seniors and organizations in various award categories. Nominations are open only until April 13.

A broad cross-section of community groups has joined the organizing committee, giving the already popular program even more grassroots involvement.

This year there is committee representation from educators, seniors, businesses, local sustainability champions, as well as the Chamber and the Town of Cochrane. (Previously, the awards were managed jointly by the Cochrane & District Chamber of Commerce and the Town of Cochrane.)

Responding to community interest, there are now opportunities for sponsorship of individual awards and the event itself. Sponsorship levels provide for participation in pre and post event marketing and are available in a range of points: Diamond Daffodil ($1000), Crystal Crocus ($750) and Golden Tulip ($500).   • Volunteer Group of the Year
  • Youth of the Year
  • Newsmaker of the Year
