Cochrane Ranche Days July 30, 31 and August 1

Alberta’s oldest Ranche turns 130 this summer, and it’s time to celebrate.  Cochrane Ranche Days are taking place July 30, 31 and August 1 in Cochrane, and there are plenty of chances for fun.

Whether you are interested in the pony rides, family picnic, expanded Farmers’ Market or the arts, crafts, music and entertainment on display, there’s truly something for everyone.

All events will be held at the Cochrane Ranche Historic Site off Hwy 1A, just east of Hwy 22.

All weekend:

  • Cochrane Posse ride through the Ranche
  • Cochrane Historical & Archival Preservation Society (CHAPS) heritage display in Westerson Cabin
  • Stockmen’s Memorial Foundation heritage activities
  • Cochrane Community Garden Society – historic garden behind the Westerson Cabin
  • Glenbow Ranch Park Foundation display in the Bert Sheppard Stockmen’s Foundation Library and Archives (RancheHouse)

 

Saturday July 30, 9 am – 4 pm

All day: cattle in the Ranche corral

The BIGGEST Farmer’s Market of the year

Guess how many potatoes in the Toyota Tundra and you could win!

1:00 pm Brand on the Land: re-creation of the Cochrane C brand for a unique commemorative photo shoot (first 130 kids get a free t-shirt courtesy of Fireside of Cochrane)

2:00 pm Stockmen’s Trail dedication, Birthday cake
